Steps to Install Windows RView
Note: As of
Version 8.186B under windows there is a new and simpler installer
package.
Installing
Windows rview on Windows (95/98/ME/2K/XP):
- Save the supplied
installation setup file to your local disk.
- Quit any running
version of rview
- Run the downloaded
rview setup executable
file (eg 'rviewSetup_V8.NNN_xyzabc....exe'.)
- Follow
installation
instructions: (choose an installation directory etc)
- Run rview for the
first time (look for rview in the windows program menu)
- Copy the text ID
number rview displays into an email and send here
- When you get an
email back with key file: Save the attached key file to disk.
- Run rview again
and hit the 'Have Key' button and select the key file to install
- Select 'Quit' and
then run rview
again from the program menu.

Installing
Windows rview on intel 86 Linux (!!):
You will need to install a recent (2003) version of wine on your linux system.
You will need to configure wine to have a desktop
big enough (eg 24 bits at 1280x1024 or 1024x768)
(see the wine
~/.wine/config file look for 'Desktop')
